About Accordate
“Are you free Thursday?” “Not Thursday, but maybe Wednesday.” “I can’t do Wednesday.” Everyone has been stuck in that email thread, the one that drags on for days until nobody remembers which date is still on the table. Accordate exists to replace it with a single link.
Why Accordate
The idea is simple: the organizer suggests a few dates, everyone marks their availability in a grid, and the date that works best stands out on its own. No tallying by hand, no replies buried in an inbox, no “I thought we’d settled this.” Whether it’s a board meeting, a family dinner or a weekend at the cottage, the principle is the same.
Where the name comes from
Accordate blends “accord” and “date” into one word: the date everyone agrees on. It works in both French and English, just like a tool built from the start to be used in both languages.
Our principles
- No account. Neither the organizer nor the participants have to sign up. A name is all it takes to respond.
- Minimal data. We keep what you type (title, description, location, dates, names, answers, comments) and the organizer’s email address, which is never shown to participants. No tracking analytics. Polls with no activity for 180 days are deleted automatically.
- Clear answers. Three explicit buttons, Yes, Maybe and No, instead of a checkbox that leaves people guessing. The organizer can even remove “Maybe” when a firm answer is needed.
- Free, with unobtrusive ads. Creating a poll and answering one costs nothing.
- Bilingual. The whole site works in French and English.
- Made in Québec. Accordate is designed and maintained independently in Québec.
How Accordate is funded
The ads on the site pay for hosting, the domain name and sending notification emails. We keep them few and place them so they don’t get in the way of reading results or answering a poll.
Who it’s for
Work teams looking for a meeting slot, boards and nonprofits trying to reach quorum, families planning a birthday, friends organizing a cottage weekend, schools and parent committees, sports clubs and associations. Our guides offer practical advice for each, for example on scheduling a board meeting or choosing a weekend with friends.
What’s next
Pro and Team plans are in the works for people who organize often and would like extra features. They aren’t available yet; the Pricing page describes what’s planned and lets you join the waitlist. These plans are meant as an addition to the free version.
